It is that time of year again!
This Christmas season we are encouraging our church community to make time to serve others in and throughout Langley. We have connected with the organizations we have served alongside in previous years, and they are thrilled to have our support again. Below are the service opportunities we invite you to take advantage of.
Saturday, December 1st
Come and help these special children and their families celebrate Christmas. Our role is to help families as they get their food and bring it to the table. There are 2 shifts available 8:15am to 12:15pm and 10:15am to 2:30 pm, which will cover 3 seatings. Children 8 and over are welcome to join their parents.
This opportunity is now full, thank you! Please consider another option, singing Christmas songs or helping with event prep, or one of our other offerings.
We have also been asked to provide a small group of singers/musicians to bring Christmas cheer through song! The shift will be 1pm to 2:30pm. Piano available and music/lyrics provided. Sign Up
In addition, hands are needed Tuesday, Nov 27 to Friday, Nov 30, during office hours, to help with sorting and wrapping gifts. Sign Up

Assistance is also needed in the afternoon at 2 pm for set up, they are looking for 6 volunteers. Sign Up
This was a big hit last year and our help was much appreciated. You might even score a dance with one of our Olympians! Space limited.

We have been invited to sing Christmas carols at Langley City’s “Magic of Christmas” Festival. We will be singing carols 20 minutes before the Christmas tree lighting (7:10pm) and again for 20 minutes afterwards. We will also be serving hot chocolate. A great opportunity for families, Life Groups and friends to serve together.

5 shifts per day at Walmart in Langley on Saturday, December 15th. It’s more fun to do this with a group of people, so gather your family, friends or Life Group and come out to serve. Guitars and Christmas songs are welcomed! If your Life Group would like to serve on your regular meeting night please indicate that while signing up and we will try to accommodate you.
Volunteer Coordinator: Linda Smith
Wednesday, December 12th, 7pm
Come and help write meaningful Christmas cards and pack Christmas gift bags to be given to women who are incarcerated in a local federal institution. Our community stepped in last year to do this and we received incredible feedback. One thank you letter read, "To the church of unconditional love." What a powerful statement! This opportunity is open to all.
This opportunity is now full, thank you! Please consider helping with one of our other offerings.

Every year LWC provides Christmas Hampers to those in our community who are in need. Along with our Life Groups, we would like to provide an opportunity for others to be involved. So, whether you can provide an entire hamper or be connected with others to prepare one, please be sure to get involved. A great opportunity for families too!
